The position of Loan Department Specialist is responsible for performing intermediate and complex duties related to consumer and business loan applications; generates loan documentation for all types of loans; processes consumer, commercial and real estate loan payments and advances on lines of credit; boards loans on the Bank's mainframe computer system; works daily insurance and monthly reports; distributes daily and monthly reports; and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The Loan Support Specialist should demonstrate proficiency in all areas of servicing loans, including SBA Lending. LaserPro experience is preferred but not required.

Essential Duties

  • Process loan payments, advances, incoming/outgoing wires
  • Responsible for tickler tracking and follow-up, i.e., Insurance, Recorded Documents, UCC Continuations
  • Review and mailing of customer loan notices.
  • Process payoff requests, including payoff of collateral liens.
  • Post payoffs and paid loan files to include collateral release.
  • Orders appropriate flood determinations and UCC searches, if applicable
  • Completes standard commercial/consumer loan document requests.
  • Boards signed loans to core maintaining data integrity.
  • Responsible for the disbursement of new loan funds.
  • New Loan Edits
  • Prepare and maintain commercial collateral files, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
  • Completes complex loan documentation.
  • Coordinate closings with loan officers and escrow agencies.
  • Partners with loan officers regarding SBA Sold loans.
  • Monitor SBA payments & pay-downs in accordance with the SBA Authorization
  • Works with correspondent banks regarding participated loans
  • Ensures that all loan files are maintained in an orderly fashion.
  • Is considered the subject matter expert in all areas of loan servicing.
  • Relied upon by the Loan Servicing Manager to provide support and training to less experience teammates.
  • Responsible for successfully completing assigned Training courses.

  • Responsible for following Bank Procedures and Policies, including Privacy Policy, Network Security Policy and Personal Computer Policy

  • Explains, promotes or recommends bank products & services.

  • Works to build strong relationships with Team Members in order to meet our TEAMWORK VALUES.

  • Provides EXTRAORDINARY CUSTOMER SERVICE as outlined in our Service Standards.

  • Maintains customer confidence and protects Bank Customers and the Bank by keeping information confidential.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Minimum three years’ experience closing commercial loans or demonstrated ability.
  2. Working Knowledge of Bank regulatory compliance for Commercial, Residential and Consumer loans
  3. Solid understanding of financial contracts and the perfection of security interest
  4. Proficient in Laser Pro
  5. High school plus additional specialized business courses.
